the only living person I can think of that has had quite a massive effect on the magical community is peter carroll.
There's others that I could think of that have plans or come close or whatever but not that have actually influenced as many as he has at this point in time.
But then, I think.. a lot of people aren't entirely recognised as influential until after they've passed.. a lot of people during their lifetime have views or opinions that aren't suited for the current climate that later generations can appreciate differently.
as well.. I think.. there's a certain level of stigma attached to naming someone current as an influence.. like just as an example you don't hear brand new pop artists naming katie perry as an influence, though she may actually be one to them.
I believe that most of the people who publish or who are "public" in their craft are so wrapped up in ego-boo that they are almost completely ineffective as witches. I think the most influential people in the craft are those who teach for no compensation, who keep teir work private, and who never toot their own horn or proselytize to the masses, or scream "persecution!" They are the ones who help create more magnificent witches or pagans through their teachings: those who truly educate, and who bring blessing and magic into the world.
