I celebrate Samhain with my group, remembering our Ancestors and honoring the dearly departed. I view the holiday, as it is often practiced, as a universal night/day of honoring the Dead, Ancestors, and the incoming dark of the year.
I do ritual regularly with two local friends. Last year we finally got to do a dumb supper and intend to do the same again this year. It worked out really well and it's nice to have some fun time before (ouija!) and the quiet feast with the dead.
Trick-o-treating, sugar comas, and the return of a member of my "spirit family". Also the start of winter, the start of the holiday season and all the festival and death things that go with it. I did a small ancestor ritual last year on Day of the Dead since my family is Catholic, but I won't be able to this year. I'd like to try again next year to visit the graves during this day.
I did a scaled down version of what I used to do a few years back. I cleaned my home of negative energy, I set an offering outside for passing spirits and opened my home to any friendly and good natured beings that happened to be passing through. Oh and a threw a kick ass Halloween party!
