Art imitates Art

There was an Elseworlds Batman a while back set in Leonardo's time where, at the end, he started painting the Mona Lisa and she was pregnant.

I saw an article a while ago suggesting that she may have been a battered wife, because it seemed that her cheekbone had broken and re-healed and that she was missing teeth. Of course, she could just as well have been in a carriage accident.

It's amazing how many things people can tell from details in a portrait.
