Give and you shall receive. Maybe some sort of reward program that they can build up? A months worth of chores earns you....a movie night at the theatre?

I like the "throw all their crap out" method too though :)

I like Flylady.com. They have a lot of useful info. They even have a house fairy that you can use to motivate the kids. Check it out.
