we (hubby and me) have been discussing getting a sat-nav. ive always been against them. ive always said theres nothing wrong with using an atlas book.  my thoughts on sat-navs it that only the lazy rely on them and that the machine can and has given incorrect information to users in the past taking them completely off-course.

Eric is fascinated by those, too. He has one on his computer & when we went on vacation, we were always pulling over to the side so he could play with it (playing with it gave me a headache). I kept saying "What's wrong with a map?!"

I have to say, i love my sat nav and would be lost without it...literally! ;o) lol

Try reading a road atlas or any sort of written directions if you are the only one in the car, in the middle of a busy city, need reading glasses to read the directions but cannot see to drive while wearing them ( ... )

that settles it then. i will let him indoors get one. it will be useful beacuse we both drive and the long journeys we will share the driving and i get nervous driving on unfamiliar roads. i get so tense i swear i leave finger indentations on the steering wheel.

.....plus i will like to meet up with book buddys from BCUK. lol
