The cowardly custard who can't reason

A little while ago, I mentioned a few blogs that I read solely for the purposes of schadenfreude. The title of this post is a literal one-sentence quote from one of those blogs, namely Atheistwatch.  Atheistwatch is a blog run by Metacrock.

Metacrock is a very...interesting character, and is difficult to adequately describe in a few paragraphs.  ( Read more... )

Clearly, he has been dancing around the truth, but has not hit on it yet. Deities = Voltron.

Voltron? An interesting idea, but the Voltron team was...well...a team. There are plenty of examples of deities not working well together (to put it mildly). So, how would this fit in to the Deities=Voltron idea?

I'm really not trying to sound like a jerk here...I'm trying to ask an honest question. If you could elaborate, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm actually talking about the deities being all the pieces of Voltron; not the pilots of the lions and/or vehicles, but the lions and/or vehicles themselves. All deities come from a single source of Giant Robot Deity Wot We Can't Perceive 'Cause It's Too Damned Giant. Y'know, like the soul of the universe type Too Damned Giant. We break pieces of the soul of the universe into perceivable chunks, the universe obliges by letting us. Yay, deities! But they're all still part of the greater cosmic Voltron.

Mostly it's a great metaphor, and it fits in neatly with the Kemetic idea of Netjer. Netjer is Voltron! Ben is Glory!

Wow. A whole blog post dedicated completely to personal attack. One of the lowest things I've seen on or off the Internet.

Ah, I wondered how long it would take the 'Crock to find this post. It's a shame that he only sent one of his attack dogs after me rather than summon the courage to show up here himself.

If you had paid attention to atheistwatch, you'd find that most of the posts consist of a directed attack at a single person (before veering off into the usual "oh noes, athiests ar haetful!!eleventyones!" la la land).

As for a debate, Metacrock has made it perfectly clear that he has no desire to interact with me in any way, shape, or form ever again. And I shall respect his wishes. I shall, however, continue to laugh at both of his blogs.

"Attack dog," eh? That's a new one. Let me remind you that I made no personal attack on you, and called you no names; I merely commented on your actions in posting what you did .

Metacrock knows how I feel about his own tendency to lose his temper and to name-calling; we have had discussions about it. This doesn't, however, excuse your actions in purposefully baiting the man just for your own amusement. He's a human being, you know, and isn't it just possible that as a dyslexic, he has experienced things that you have no idea of? If you are indeed a theist, surely your god or gods call for compassion and humanity towards others.

Please, don't let this escalate. There are other ways to amuse yourself.

Yes. Attack dog. And yes, I meant it. Metacrock couldn't be bothered to show up here himself (probably either because he was too afraid or because he couldn't figure out how to start a LJ account), so he sent you. And you're a pathetic attack dog.

Sit. Stay. Good doggie. Now go.
