Random Thoughts....

I posted this on my Facebook today:

There's gotta be something better than this, there's gotta be something better to do, and when I find me something better to do, I'm gonna get up, I'm gonna get out, I'm gonna get up, get out and do it!

As per usual, I "theme" my life through Musical Theatre. LOL. This is a quote from Sweet Charity, and darn it if it's not my current theme song. I am so unhappy with my job right now that it's seriously starting to get to me. In one regard, I feel ashamed that I am complaining when so many others are out of work and really struggling. But the fact is, I am unhappy at my job, and that is taking its toll on my well-being. So, feeling motivated by Charity and her best girlfriends, "I'm gonna get up, get out, and do it!" I'm looking at Backstage West every day and I'm actively searching for theme park and cruise line jobs. I've also decided that I want to continue my education and get a Masters (and perhaps a PhD) in Theatre, so that I can teach/be a dramaturg/be a theatre critic. So at least I have a back-up plan that involves my passion. Too broke to do that right now, but hopefully soon.

I apologize for my lack of segue, but......

Andrew is doing well post-op. I think everyone knows he got the "Snip" early December. He's healing well and we're feeling more confident than ever about our decision not to have children. (Speaking of: we hung out with our couple friends this weekend. They have a 5-month old boy. We all went to Disneyland and Andrew and I watched the baby so they could go on Indiana Jones together. It was a pretty awful 45 minutes, let me tell you! j/k It wasn't terrible, but he did cry a bit. We were happy to hand him to his mother when she returned). Anyway, Andrew has a follow-up appointment a week from today to check on the effectiveness of the surgery. In 4 weeks he has one last appointment and then we're clear! Phew.

The holidays were fun. My birthday was great. Disneyland annual passes are awesome. :-)

Socializing is the theme of this month, as we're having friends over every weekend! Looking forward to seeing Jolyn, Eric and Wes on the 23rd.

I've been cooking alot recently and having a blast with that. Recent winners (according to the hubby) are: potato tacos, vegetarian southern dumplings, vegetarian pot pie, pasta and vegetables with tomato-basil sauce, and vegetarian matzo ball soup. Yum! I <3 our nice big gourmet kitchen. It makes me so happy to cook there!

I think that's about all I have to share for this random update.......stay tuned!
