Those sort of people wouldnt know retribution if it hit them full in the face.
They only have power if you give it to them. Treating them with the contempt they deserve and getting on with your life is about the best you can do.
I wonder... if you know who they are maybe they can be kidnapped and used in that stage show, you know the ritual one under the heading of 'psychopomp'..
