Well NOW I have something to say. Thai you're dead on, I did have too high expectations for my stay in Poland. The Netherlands was sooo easy because almost everyone speaks english. Here, on the other hand, was a shock because no one speaks english. And I mean NO ONE. Not even a little. And I think we all know that I only speak english. Anyways, I'm ( Read more... )

Cora: I'm feeling this weird mix of pride, worry, respect, interest in all that you are journeying through. Beer will put on the pounds as well greasy Dutch food, so don't worry just stick to wine. I don't want to give advice, I've got my plate full trying to figure out my transition to Nelson. I spent a week there looking for shared accomodation, met many people and I have a couple of potential options now: notably a zen-like bright high mountain home with a very cool woman named Dorothy or a room with attached bath and laundry room with biker Brian and comrades in a heritage mansion that he is renovating into a bed and breakfast. It is complete with a 6 foot staircase and 3 fridge kitchen. I'm back in Calgary for a week or so. I e-mailed your student number, hope this helps. E-mail me anytime! I miss you sweety but I have faith that you will be fine! Isn't travelling the best except when it is the pits? Love, love, love Mom

We call it thunder thighs here. Just try to avoid the skirts until its healed (anywhere from 2-3 days to a week, depends if you still wear them) and wear some jeans. Rubbing body lotion type stuff seems to help too.
Now that I feel fat.....

Anyways! Hope you're having an amazing time, it sure sounds like you are. And even though it sounds really morbid, I think it would be really cool to see a Nazi death camp....Just to see that kind of..hate, and cruelity...I'm glad you got to experience it. I think it helps put life into perspective. So yeah. Be proud. Be fat. And avoid the skirts :D

hugs and lubs kellinaaaaaaaa

For the legs and hot summer days and skirts, I SWEAR by baby powder. Keeps you cool, and somehow magically forms an invisiable barrier. Love it, live it. lol...

This is Rachelle, btw. :)

It sounds like Poland was more of an experience than run of the mill European fun, but that it's just as important. Even if it is creepy, and sad, and frustrating. The worst part for me? The fact that mass genocide like that is still happening, in 2005!

Prague it up in Prague. Shop like a nut, and buy another piece of luggage if you have to... because with deals like that, you can't afford NOT to. Plus when people tell you you look hot and ask where you got it, you can say, "I picked this up at a boutique in Europe." :-D

Keep rocking the continent!

Ugh, I think I know the feeling, to a lesser degree, that you got in the death camps... I got it on 9/11.

I've had the rash thing happen too, I used Tend Skin on it. I don't know if you'd be able to find it there though.

Anyhow, have an awesome time! I loved my time in the tiny corner of Europe I visited last year, so I'm sure you'll have a blast in the rest!
