The last sentence seemed somewhat ominous in its tone, though I'm sure that's just the reader making inferences based on nothing . . . nothing at all. :)

I'm sad that you'll be without your other half but happy for Lena. She'll be perfectly fine and maybe grow half as sensible as you in Med school.
