{voice}The disturbances in the high school appear to have been shortlived. Rumors of a haunting are said to have been greatly exaggerated; the most likely cause is the use of someone's powers, whether deliberately or inadvertently due to chip removal ( Read more... )

...Dying outside of Discedo sounds rather hazardous.

It may or may not be. I do not think anything too far afield has been tried.

Death in general isn't recommended anyways.

No, but it is something that will always dog those in this world, particularly since there is a method of avoiding it -- a method which may involve confining themselves to one city.

The water that runs through the pipes in Horton is a strange dark green color, so I have been getting water from the lake. I recommend boiling it first though to make sure you don't ingest something disgusting.

... A strange dark green color -- this water is being drunk?

And how long have you been drinking the lakewater?

I don't know, but I wouldn't. It looks gross. [Yeah, he shares his water with the only people he really knows in the building.]

Since I arrived near the end of June.

Do you know what causes it to take on that appearance? Most of the water I have been in contact with is normal.

Are you the only one?

H-haunting, what?!

Oh. You mean outside the city? That... happened to Rosalyn. They come back, but it takes forever and a day!

There was what many claimed to be a ghost or ghosts in the high school, making noise and invisibly moving things about. It was likely the result of telekinetic powers or something similar, however.

... Rosalyn? How far outside the city did this occur?

ARE YOU STUPID?! I-invisible ones are the worst! You can't see 'em and you won't know what hits you until there's a HAND AROUND YOUR THROAT.

Oh God.

What if they're back?!

I CAN HANDLE LIVESTOCK GHOSTS. PEOPLE GHOSTS AND WHITE BLURS ARE ANOTHER STORY.

I DON'T WANT GHOSTS CRAWLING OUT OF MY TOILET AGAIN.

[Okay semi-calmed down after several chants of "what would Rosalyn do?"]

Uh, not sure. She went off into another town to go help with a lost scientist or something, th-then the ghosts came, and she was far away and.

The ceiling caved in on her.

Then she came back!

I believe the pH levels in the lake are generally a bit high to be considered "clean".

In this type of situation, slightly higher pH levels are likely the least of our worries. Still, it may be linked to other factors affecting the water, and may in that case be worth investigating.

Have you been told about the acid rain we've been stricken with before?

I have. You believe there is a connection?

The lake water is, to my knowledge, non-potable. Water is most easily obtained through one of the water magi within the city, though I hope to begin construction of a water storage unit as a more long-term solution.

An irrigation or aqueduct system might be somewhat ambitious at this time, but that is likewise something I am currently planning for.

It seems that some have found it drinkable after boiling. What type of water storage are you planning?

And this system would use the lake, I presume?
