Wee bit on rosemary:

This well known herb is native to southern Europe and and has a reputation as an invigorating herb, giving a zest for life (Chevallier, 2007). Rosemary is strongly associated with warmth of the body as an arterial stimulant, dispelling cold and supporting a deficient circulation (Holmes, 2007). This circulatory action coupled with its tonification of the Qi helps to restore the brain (Holmes, 2007), improving concentration and memory (Chevallier, 2007). It can be helpful for those with a stagnant depression (Winston & Maimes, 2007), by raising the spirits and for those who are “failing to thrive” (Chevallier, 2007).

Rosemary is also used as a restorative, aiding recovery from stress (Chevallier, 2007) due to the effects of its essential oils on the endocrine system - notably the adrenals, liver and spleen (Holmes, 2007). The herb has a calming effect on the digestion associated with psychological tension (Hoffmann, 2003).
