These kinds of laws are bullshit.

- First, who cares what people wear? You have much, much better things you should be doing with your time.

- Secondly, they target a specific group (young, urban blacks). This isn't specifically stated, of course, but only an idiot wouldn't see the implied racism.

- Third, if the underwear is the problem, why aren't they targeting women who have their thongs showing over top of their pants? I find that far more trashy than seeing a guy's (usually funny) boxers. But hey, that would contradict womens' role in society - cheap sex objects.

Yeah, I think they're ugly (the underwear, not the baggy pants), but jeebus, how about targeting crime and corruption instead?

I agree the law is stupid, but I wish they'd stop selling stupid looking clothes as "fashion". But then again, they'll never stop that if it keeps making them money.

In some parts of Florida, they're trying to make it an obscenity violation when more than some certain amount of your underwear shows over the top of your pants. It's totally racist and makes me hate Florida more.

I don't know why more plumbers don't get arrested.

You know, I'm not saying there's no racism up this way. But I love how all the towns enacting these band are in the South. Jim Crow 2: weaker and lamer than its predecessors, like all sequels, but still.
