'Cause She's Like: 'Who's Julius Ceasar?'

I am so done with school. My mom sent me this NY Times article in which it talked about how a lot of businesses are looking more for people who have spent time abroad rather than gone to school. And I'm not talking about Study Abroad, with captial letters and applications and papers to be written where you take excursions and have a meal a day paid ( Read more... )

Wow! I don't think I could ever do that. Just go to another country and live...especially if I didn't know the language. That's awesome that you might do that. Geeze!

And did Leonardo Da Vinci really have ADD??? You see...we just learned about him in Art History (and he was on our mid-term yesterday!), and my teacher likes to fluff stuff up a bit. And she told us that the reason he didn't finish a lot of his works was because he was just so curious and so anxious to start something new because he was so fascinated by the world around him. I think ADD would be a way better explanation... (Oh, and we were told that it is wrong to call him "Da Vinci", because that just means "from the town of Vinci." You have to call him Leonardo, or Leonardo Da Vinci...FYI. Haha!)

Anyway, bravo on being proactive in life and doing what you want, not what you're expected to do. That's awesome.

Seemingly, "so curious and so anxious to start something new because he was fascinated by the world around him" is just an extended euphemism for ADD.

Either way, the facts of the matter are this:
Leonardo left a lot of things unfinished.
Then he died.
In the meantime, he became an art historical cult hero.
Now people try to explain everything about him.
Do we really know if he had ADD? No. Did anybody officially have ADD back then? No, ADD didn't exist, at least not in a form with a name. Does it really matter? Not so much.

That is my two cents.

Also, I would like to express my support for Paige doing what she needs to do with her life. As long as she doesn't need to leave Colorado so quickly that we don't have a fun summer together in the Fort.

What time did we say at the McDonalds at Termini again? 6:45 pm on Friday, March 10? Is that right?
I booked our hostel tonight. It is going to be 16 euros a night.
