Malachi 3:3: "And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness

and the metalsmith (god) never leaves the gold or silver in the fire long enough for it to be destroyed, keeps a watchful eye & always pulls the metal out at just the right time!
I am a firm believer that anything that is good will be somewhat painful. If you can handle the pain, then God can do wonders for you and through you! That's why I should put more of an effort of enduring the pain of the life I should leave rather than waste away in the life that is comfortable.
All good things are not necessarily painful, brother. Be careful to be masochistic towards yourself! Be kind to yourself just as you are to others, and we know that kind does not mean indulgent.
But I agree with you that good gifts do come in painful packages sometimes. Thank you!! I hadnt heard from you in a bit.
no matter how expensive the "gold" you buy in the form of jewlery is, it is not pure gold. pure gold is so soft that it wouldn't hold its form in jewlery--they have to mix other metals to make it harden and be able to mold...which defeats the purpose of pure gold--
so maybe that's what we are--we are like a bracelet or a necklace or a ring...we are mixed with other metals--and the Lord is trying to take us to pure gold so He is turning up the heat so all those impurities will come to the surface.
They were someone elses. No, we are not already pure, or else God would not have to purify us. Thank you! They are good thoughts, they blessed me, I thought I'd share. ;)
Yes, we ARE once we accept Christ. Right when we do that we 1) get a new heart (of flesh), 2) have the Law written on our heart and mind, 3) get a new spirit, and 4) get His spirit... not to mention ALL of our sins washed away. We, who are in Christ, are new creations-- the old is gone, the new is here... it is us. We're pure and blameless in His sight because of what Jesus did on the cross and afterward (resurrection), and our acceptance of it all. Take care. peace
There is a process of sanctification we must go through to become more like Him every day. The minute you accept Him, your sins are washed clean, but your mind is not renewed yet, and you still have a lot of the same issues going on in your life that must be surrendered to Him and sometimes that alone is a process in itself.
That is why Psalms says the path of the just is as the shining sun, growing ever brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. Because we do not become perfect the second we accept Jesus - it is a sanctification process we go through while walking with Him. But thank you for sharing!
