I'm glad things are going good for you...i'm so familiar with the type of situation you described with your mom that its scary - im starting to break free of that fear of standing up to parents as well. I'm ecstatic that you were able to have a victory here
Im starting dance tomorrow so Im only going to church tomorrow (for dance) and Thursday for regular service. Otherwise I wont get time with my boy!! Im sorry! =(
Tell me what it was about though .. are you coming Thursday???
It's good that you're standing your ground. Although I do think it's prudent to avoid confrontation when necessary (i.e. if the boss that nobody can stand starts nagging me to hurry up with something, I'll simply respond with a nod because to argue with her will just waste both our times), confrontation is definitely necessary for people like your mother who will take advantage of your passivity. I pray that your mother will mature and that you two will be able to have a healthy relationship someday. It would be great if your son could have a grandmother he could love without feeling any resentment toward as I once did toward my own grandmother.
And although I don't know all the details, it might be necessary to kick her out of your place to force her to get her act together.
