Every day is like total drought. But i know the purpose for it. Financial wise-I have the bare minumum and thats the way God wants it right now to starve this flesh so Im glad. im on a fruit-veggie-grains fast already but at least twice a week, I fast completely from all food. Very seldom it seems is this "flesh" ever fed except coffee and He is ( Read more... )

It is wonderful that you are growing, Bonnie.
The transition to a life without frills is rather difficult, but in time, I'm sure it'll feel natural and anything more will feel excessive! I know when I cut unnecessary junk from my life, it's like I could feel fat falling off my body. I think I'm going to try fasting regularly too. Be sure to take supplements for any vitamins you might be lacking in your diet though!

Thank you! That is exactly what God is doing. and its not that He wants me to live like this forever,. but He wants me to stop LOVING those extra pleasures too much because the LOVE of those things is what makes me the most miserable. If I could be content with what I have (which Im learning to do), then I can have true peace and joy. You know? Im not saying I need to learn to be happy in a cardboard box on the highway because thats certainly not Gods plan for anyone; we are natural creatures on this earth for now; but I need to be happy with what I do have, seeing as I have more than 80% of the rest of the world anyhow. It boils down to comparison with others - "I wish I had what they do" which Im learning not to do. You know? very simple, but I say "count your blessings."

A week fast!!! A total fast or a fruit/veggies/grains fast (aka a Daniel fast)???? WOW, I bet that was AWESOME (and was it hard at first?) The most I have ever done is 3-days, and I havent been able to do it longer than a whole day recently. God is just calling us to crucify this flesh, for real!

WOW girl seriously you are a warrior. I pray I can get through 3 days much less a week. You are a lot better at disciplining your body than I am though; working out, fasting, thats awesome!

Im every day just trying to crucify it a little bit - over time, it adds up. But I can feel this flesh rebelling (I want another cup of coffee! I want some Panera Bread! I want some Starbucks!). Im past the point of feeling like Im "righteous" just because theres no "big sin" in my life, and now God has shown me the little things He wants me to change and man they are harder to put to death than anything. Ya know?

The next Paula White? How cool! Those are some annointed shoes to fill! (and stylish ones too, lol). I had the blessing of seeing Paula live last year, and the annointing was much stronger than on TV even.

Since you have, quite possibly, the most intersting journal on LJ, I've added you to my friend list (I hope you don't mind.)

Im honored that you said my lj is one of the most interesting on here! (It was before I was saved too! haha)

When did I say something about the next Paula White? That was prophesied over me but I dont remember writing it...yes the Lord has a lot to do, so if it was He that said it, I believe it and receive it, but man there is work to do! Thats ok though makes it interesting right?

I will add you too. I know God will use your posts to encourage me as well. Thanks a lot for posting!!!

Yep, my life before Christ was very "interesting" as well, lol. I think the formula for me was ... not knowing Jesus + alcohol = lots of "interesting" stories (and I mean "interesting" in the worst sense of the word, unfortunately.)

Doubly-unfortunate, due to my natural craziness, alcohol post-Christ didn't work out too well either, lol. So, for the past 4 years, I've only gotten drunk on the Spirit :) However, life with Christ (and without alcohol) has been even more adventuresome, than before. It's just that the adventures have been leaps of faith, and the battles have been fought in the heavenlies :)

Thats awesome, and totally true for me as well. I like how you put that!
