We both know that forever doesn't exist-- at least, not between us. There will be an end, whether it be tomorrow or once the season passes. Our ending is absolute; our love is like a symphony, where each note exhales in powerful bursts, but every second ticks down to the grand finale and ends in an all too empty silence (like a blackout, and we will be left blind and alone). Everything dies. It is the law of nature, the impenetrable wall we won't be able to tear down. Forever love drew the line at us. Our chance at pure happiness will never arrive. But it's okay, you see, because that makes us cherish our every moment even more, and tears won't be our kiss goodbye. It will be a clean final cut, leaving nothing but a faint bittersweet memory of what was and never will be.

Don't try to cling onto this, my love. The stars aren't meant to be aligned-- at least, not tonight. We'll sing our way through this one, like we always do on rainy days. And once the song ends, you'll know. We'll both know, and it'll be time for me to go.
