Childhood Trauma

I hate ice cream trucks too, but not for the same reason. They've always made me overwhelmingly sad and anxious. I almost cry when I hear them. Seriously. I think it has to do with being a young child in Somerville and being so afraid I would miss the truck. I'm pretty sure one time I fell and hurt myself while running to catch it. That could have something do with it. Or the fact that I'm a huge loser could have something to do with it.

You know what it is for me babe?
It's like a little piece of lost childhood coming back to haunt me, because my parents never once let me get icecream from one of those.
I didn't get to buy anything from one until I went swimming at Lake Attatash with Julie Weaver, and Laura bought me one.
And the fact that that is my only memory of icecream trucks to recall every single time I hear one, makes me want to scramble my brain with a fork, and start my memories anew.
