Something I had to learn very painfully - but Roberta Shoemaker-Beal was the one who worked to make me see that some places are so toxic that the only solution is to leave them.

You can also google for workplace bullies. There is a website that deals with the topic - my best friend sent me to it. I would have to search my LJ to find the link.
