I am having a bad day Internet. I dropped out of the show I was doing. At the read-through we were finally given our parts, and I don't have a role, I'm just emsemble. Which is fine. Normally. I think there's a vast difference between letting someone know you think they're attractive and reducing a woman to "you're cute, you're arm candy, you're here to be an object of desire." For instance, I would find someone telling me I'll be okay because I'm cute (which is nice if I want to be cute, but not when it comes to my academic or professional life) really patronising.

Basically, it's not whiny. You're a subject not an object and it's completely natural to want that to be recognised. I really don't see why you should get over it. Just because you look good or, let's be honest, are a woman does not mean your reactions are there for others to police.
