“Everything Fine” “I’m Pregnant” “Expect for that”

First off sorry for the long delay but without Luke recapping this just isn’t as much fun but here is the first season finally at last. I’m going to try and foucs on one plot line at a time but there is a lot going on in this one, as all finalizes should.

Previous Part

Okay so first off the smallest plotline

Marissa is moving out of Jimmy’s place, even through she just unpacked and will be moving in with Caleb and Julie, who are having their Unholy Marriage of Evil this episode as well.

Hailey helps Jimmy mover her but Julie at the new place so the three have a insult contest until Marissa calls them on it, and we learn that Julie is the only one in Newport that doesn’t know why Marissa is moving in with her and I feel kind of bad for her. She really thinks Marissa wants to live with her…

Anyways that it’s for this plot, like I said it was short, the next short plot is the wedding it self.

I find it amusing that Ryan is in the wedding party given how much both Julie and Caleb dislike him.
It’s really more of a reason for everyone to be around each other and talk about the other plots then anything in itself in this episode as nothing happens at the wedding itself but we get a dinner party

In which the teens, and half the table, leave after the opening toast

They go to the beach and talk about the pilot some and I do love that they did that and Summer’s comment about not even knowing they were at Holly’s party. But other wise they talk about the other plot line I haven’t gotten to yet but now’s as good a time as any.

The Baby, Ryan’s and Theresa’s that is.
First they confirm there is a baby

Plan Parenthood is great for that and yes there is a kid but no they don’t know who the father is yet and can’t until the baby is born. So the first thing they do since they know there is a baby is tell the Cohen’s

I love that Seth is there like the third parent or something.
The Cohen’s to support Ryan and Theresa and that’s great. I love them so much.

Kaitlin even talks to Theresa women to women

Which is something I think she needed because Theresa, very understandably, spends some time going back and forth between her options of having the baby or not. But I do think it would have been better for her to make up her mind before telling Ryan because it’s really not fair to him to be told she’s not having it to being told she is. But at the same time it’s not easy on her either and I have to give this show lots of credit for dealing with this so realistically and honestly. This isn’t easy for anyone and the show is showing that well.
In the end she wants to keep it and Ryan, being the guy he is, won’t abandon his child like he was. He even talks about it with Sandy

And I think it’s one of the most honest and heartfelt conversations he’s ever had with words. Because he talks about that he was thinking and wasn’t just giving looks as he often does.
But in the end he leaves with her.

And the Cohen’s are heartbroken

Seth and Ryan’s goodbye is so sad to watch because Seth is just not dealing with it and it’s a flip of their goodbye back at the start of the season because Ryan is talking about how they can visit and still be friends but Seth is just like whatever, knowing it’s not going to happen. A flip of the last time they did this. And no hug this time, but both look like they’re just on the edge of crying and it’s just heartbreaking

Kirsten however is crying and it’s just…she went to not wanting him in the house to being devastated that he’s leaving and it’s just to real. This episode is just very well done, the acting is just beautiful, there are no other words.
Take Ben (Ryan)

When Theresa tells him she’s not keeping the baby

When she said she is keeping it

And she said she’s keeping but not in Newport, she’ leaving.
And his skills when he’s talking with Sandy. He is one good actor and he’s not alone the whole cast is great.

Now before I forget one last plot. Seth and his boat.

If you forgot he had one well everyone did it hasn’t been around since the pilot because Adam(Seth) doesn’t like boats at all so they never used it but it’s back. And Summer gets to see it and comment on the name

But she doesn’t get that it’s named for her…anyways at first he tried so sell it but that doesn’t work so at the end after his heartbreaking goodbye he does that he was planning to do before Ryan entered his life.

He takes off for Tahiti,
If you didn’t slash them before you have to know. He leaves the county before Ryan is leaving town…talk about a statement.

And that's the end of the first season of The O.C.
Season one
