Why do all of the fantasy heroines have long long hair?

Just a quick happy note to get the ball rolling. Alex and I are going to Dragon*con this year! This was one of my holiday presents this year, and I'm already excited.

What character should inspire a costume for me?

My preferences-

1. Nothing super revealing. I'm not aiming to be a slave Leia or anything.

I would go for Evey

You have a beautiful face for it. Few can pull it off, and you absolutely can.

And it makes for an easy costume for A who can stand behind you with gloves (I can loan), mask (seen at center stage), and a black outfit (which I am sure he can find somewhere in his closet). I am sure a shout out to the community would also result in a black cape he can borrow if he doesn't still have his. He has to wear NO makeup :)

That would make a very compelling 2-person costume combo, one I actually haven't seen at D*Con before.

(There are 1000000 Deaths there. So many tin ankhs.)

My thoughts:

1. You could totally be Death if you grew your hair out just a bit and teased it. Millsy suggested going as the Endless in '09. He would be Destruction and I'd be Delirium, because I really want a pink wig and a fish balloon. I only saw like 2 Deaths and 1 Delirium last year.

2. You would make such a good Alice! She's the best character in the series.

3. Evey is also awesome. How would you dress to make it obvious you are not just a lady with a shaved head?

4. Ofelia from Pan's Labyrinth? I really wanted to dress as her last year, but I have too much hair and bustiness to pull it off. I was going to carry a toy walking stick.
