Nothing is resolved, but this is a reminder

"So too, Beardsley's is a textual world, inscribed and superinscribed with decorative motifs--in which for example, pearls embroidered over a blood-red slipper may be worn over a white silk stocking drawn over a leg painted over with black silhouettes. The ubiquitous decorative motifice, moreover, are to be 'read' as texts, for the inhabitants of a ( Read more... )

This is entirely unrelated, but I was just cruising some short hair websites (I'm cutting mine off and donating it) and there's a picture of you! I couldn't believe it! Here's the link. I thought you might want to know, just in case they're using your image illegally.

I'm not surprised. The majority of my Flickr traffic comes from hair people. A lot of stylists and short hair fetishists like my hair. : P

I don't mind people using any pics for a non-fetish blog. I just occasionally have to delete naughty messages or ban creepy people from my flickr feed. Not a big deal.

Much more annoying was a fairly popular steampunk tutorial that used a photo I took of a friend of mine. Pics of me, whatevs, pics of my friends who show trust in me by allowing their pics in my Flickr, less okay.

It looks like they are loading the image right from Flickr, which probably makes them less sketchy in the copyright range, but they are violating Flickr's terms of service, since Flickr requires you to link back to the photo page when using a photo loaded from them (that is, you should be able to click the image and get to the photo's page).

That said, it's probably a robot page that made the page out of keywords, and they should (but clearly don't) respect the photo's license, and only craft those pages out of CC images.

That all being said, it's a really cute photo of you.

Dude, they painted their legs with sillhouettes and then wore white stockings over them? That is such a cool idea!

This is an image inspired by a pornographic novel set in a mythic place. I don't know if anyone has done it, but it could certainly be done. I'd like to see it!

If you like this I totally recommend reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, or Against Nature by Joris Huysman.
