You couldn't pay me to go swimming in the Río de la Plata! With that said, it's nice that those who can't afford to vacation on the coast have somewhere to go to catch some rays. - Katie
Your comment about Macri reveals how disinformed about local politics the newcomers can be. Probably even Hitler must have done somehing right if we think of it. Macri has done a great deal to destroy culture in the city. There were wonderful workshops in free cultural centers in every neighbourhood, now disappeared; schools are running without gas for heating, without basic repairs; teachers' salaries are kept as low as possible. Buildings like the one on the corner of Brazil and Balcarce, used as trades workshops for the poor, gone too and many like this one went the same way. The list of wrongdoings is enormous.
Which comment in particular are you referring to "Anonymous"? The one where I say that he has been called a fascist? This blog entry is about a nice weekend that I had in Buenos Aires, my adopted home. This post was not about politics. As you point out I am a "newcomer" so I don't feel competent to comment, but I am not as ignorant about city politics as you assume I am.
