Oh, thank you for this. Poor Beckett gets nearly choked to death, and neither Elizabeth or Rodney *do* anything about it. Why wasn't Rodney pulling a gun? Hello!?

Okay, I'm fine now. This is only fiction, right? *g*

Oh, thank you for this.
You are very much welcome!

I had the same reaction at first, however after some discussion (yeah, no life over here..) the scene actually made sense...
Take these things into consideration:
- Rodney has no authority over Ford, and on a personal level while they are good teammates I do not believe that they are good friends
- Ford and Teyla appear to have a connection of some kind. Be it friendship, one that includes bad pron music, or just that of a kindred warrior spirit. He also respects her as a warrior and at minimum he sees her at a peer.
- The quieter Rodney gets the worse off he is.

Toss all those things together you get the scene that happened. Rodney would freeze, knowing he couldn't do anything but watch, Teyla would take control of the situation, and god only knows what Liz is up to. ;)

Okay, I'm fine now. This is only fiction, right? *g*yes...that's ( ... )

Hm...I've seen Rodney get hysterical the more upset he gets, and more quiet when he's hurt (see what Koyla did to him). I think it was shock that Ford was doing it to Carson, and Rodney was so far into la-la land from lack fo sleep that it seemed a dream. Or just one more overload to his already overloaded brain.

I think Liz was just plain out of it. I still don't know why she didn't get some marine/AF guy to order Ford back to the infirmary. Would have saved them a lot of trouble.

Ah well. Tomorrow is another episode...wheee!

*blushes* Thank you!

It's really interesting that you brought up the lack of pr0n in a positive light. I was actually expecting people to gripe that it wasn't in there. It just felt *wrong* to have it go further.

And the little man on your shoulder can go to hell, just as long as he doesn't take you with him. ;)

oh.
that was just what i needed. after watching seige iii, i kept thinking to myself, "what about carson? ford was mean to him! someone (read: rodney) go comfort carson!"
and your fic had him do it and now my emotional catharsis is complete.
Carson's voice was quiet and steady, even as his hands trembled.

for some reason, that line just resonated. i think it's because it so captures who carson is. he keeps his head when everything is going to shit. plus, it's just an excellent line.
A small part of him was pleased that he had had the presence of mind to use his lover's formal moniker.? It made the tryst sound more like a patient seeking his doctor rather than a man on the brink hunting for his lover.
and that is, without a doubt, the awesomest of many awesome lines in your fic. i want to grab rodeny and hug him.
now, this is going to sound kind of gross, but oh well. can i crawl inside your brain and live there? 'cos any place that came up with this fic would be a cool place to be.

*grumbles at LJ* I could have sworn I responded to you a few days ago. Forgive me!

Wow, I think this is the first time something I've done has aided an emotional catharsis...emotional breakdown on the other hand... ;)

Why I am so loving this season. Every idiot out there who said Carson was nothing more than a spineless crybaby will get a reality check.

plus, it's just an excellent line.[snip]
