The lack of sleep combined with what could be tentatively described as mild snow induced cabin fever finally took it's toll on Priere. Against all logic, she grabbed her coat and ventured outside, roaming around the city just trying to clear her head a little, and hopefully not getting snowed in this time. Also, even she was a little curious about the whole gate thing. While she wasn't planning on trying to skip town, she did decide to head towards the gates, trying to see for herself if the mayor actually was upholding his threats
( ... )
Already within minutes of walking into this city and Ratigan found himself beset by humans. He couldn't say he cared much for their concerns or matters, but when said human makes such a blatant disregard for not only his cat, but for his very existence, Ratigan can't help feeling annoyed.
Felicia throws a haughty head in the air at this girl. As if her master would abandon her, the very thought!
The huge dandy of a rat pats the spoiled feline as he speaks to the girl, "Her name is Felicia, dear girl and you will address her as such."
After having to deal with talking pirate cats, talking lions and talking... Timon, really, a talking rat barely got a small recoil out of her. Dammit, she was getting used to this at this point. However, Priere was still pretty surprised by this, if only for the fact that... this cat's owner was a rat? Wait how does that work?
"Oh... kay," she answered, clearly not very impressed by the prissy cat and rat. As if she was supposed to know the name of a random cat she's never met. "Wait... you're the owner? Don't cats usually eat mice and rats?" She finally asked, unable to hide her confusion any longer.
Now, now, she didn't call him a rat specifically, no need to get hasty yet. And of course she wouldn't know; doesn't mean she shouldn't lack the tact to ask for the cat's name (at least in Ratigan's view).
But Ratigan can put aside his annoyance with her long enough to show off his precious pet. He pets Felicia, who in turn responds with a content purr, "Oh, she does."
He chuckles sardonically as releases one arm to pat his trusty bell within his coat pocket, "Let's just say I control her diet."
Priere's annoyance and confusion disappeared almost in an instant. What... what in the world did he just imply here? Was he trying to say he fed her other mice... while he was one? No... it was a bit too early to jump to conclusions here, plus, it's not like she wasn't already in trouble with some of the inhabitants here.
However, the look on her face said it all. She stared at the rat, unamused and suspicious. "Is that so?"
She had never met the two of them before and usually, she wouldn't have been too annoyed to start talking about the city or how they were trapped, but she wasn't exactly too keen on doing it in this case.
