I am at work-not working-and being totally entertained by this.
Honestly, this is the kind of stupid I love to see featured at sf_drama. No -isms or wank, other than rampant stupidity that could have been prevented if only the featuree had just used the brain that they were born with. Information-it's not hard to learn and absorb.
I learned way back in English Comp 1, thou shalt not plagarize. ALWAY source your work. I mean this is dummies 101 and this woman is an Editor? Also, as an editor, is it not their job to proofread/correct? I certainly didn't think it was copy and paste articles from websites without asking the original author.
This is one of the most entertaining posts I've read in days. I'm really enjoying this, and hoping to catch it on the news.
If you are just copying a recipe-not really an actionable cause but the articles and pictures? Definitely copyright infringement.
And to do it to Disney of all places? Wow, this woman must have been living in a cave in outer Mongolia to not have heard what Disney does to people that steal from them. I almost (but not quite) feel sorry for her. I mean it isn't like she is some teeny bopper newbie to the Internet for feck's sake.
And yes, this is so very entertaining. Stupid that is not filled with -isms and slurs. Just lots of good clean stupid.
To be pedantic, it's not plagiarism so much as copyright infringement. Which is actually even worse because the mistake that the editor is making regarding copyright is so basic that it's something that anyone would learn within approximately one week to one month of being in publishing. I can't decide whether she's really that stupid or whether she thought she could bluff her way through on something that stupid. Given the number of articles stolen, one begins to tilt toward stupid.
It is a head scratcher no matter how you look at it.
Although in looking at some of the links posted on the facebook page discussion board, it does look like she is taking articles from other sources and reworking them-which I think fits plagiarism better than copyright infringement. I am not a lawyer (nor do I play one on TV or the Internet) so I may be wrong. But either way? 30 years in the business and she fails this hard? Yikes.
But the photos? Definitely copyright infringement all the way.
Hmm, a particularly interesting example of the breed specialus snowflakeus entitlementus. Notice how the predator attempts to intimidate its prey into submission, completely unprepared for the herd to come together and protect its own.
I don't get it. Really? I guess she figured she had already stolen from the big ones like Martha Stewart and Disney so some small Internet Blogger was no big deal.
