I just took in this little documentary on Netflix streaming.  It's quite charming, and friends of mine into furry are likely to see some parallels. :)

(If I can't get the player to display above, well... that's why I don't like using Livejournal anymore.)

Not to worry - I disable embedded players anyway, as they take so long to get started, for no ultimate benefit, given I'll only open the URL in a new tab anyway, so I can kill the loading if it's not something that appeals, without affecting my reading.

Perhaps a few words about the clip would be beneficial? Makes it easier to judge if it's of interest, especially on flaky connections, or costly ones; I'm quite well acquainted with both, at present. (Latest develment is an apparent cross-connection at the exchange, hence the lack of DSL carrier when they said it'd gone live on the line..)

I'll have a look on the morrow, on the campus connection, which is a little nicer than the 3G dongle in the warren. ^_^;

It's hard to say whether a similar model would work today- back in the early 80's, if you wanted to entertain children, the first order of business seemed to involve filling a room with all the latest video game cabinets. Now, that paradigm has clearly shifted ( ... )
