Summer winding down....

Nearly mid August already and another Summer by the wayside. I wont miss it, been too damned hot, but I always stop to ponder a bit with seasons change. As I get older I cant help wonder how many more seasons changings I'll get to see. And I also think back on my life and all the really fun times, the bad times, and all the rest and I cant help

Mike, this is kinda scary. I was discussing this with another person right before I read your entry. Here is what I replied to her comment:

I sometimes think about the wisdom I gained over the years, and begin to ponder about what I will continue to learn, and then become frustrated over the whole cycle. We learn so much and gain a better insight on life, just to become too old and senile to enjoy what he have mentally gained. I have this deep down feeling that we do continue on to another place, using what we learned when we are here on the planet. I just have a hard time believing that this is all for nothing.

It is comical and tragic to think that everything we learn will be in vain. Sure we can try to pass on our wisdom to our children, but they're programmed to want to learn these hard lessons on their own. And by the time to finally wise up and know who you are, you are pretty set in your ways, and breaking a cycle is hard.
