Rainy Days

I forgot to mention last post that we went out to eat at a new Mexican restaurant for Papa's birthday.  I felt very daring for getting Chipotle lime shrimp, which were very good but spicy.

Last week has just been a confluence of frustrating events.  We were of course supposed to be going up to see the family this weekend in Charleston.  However Hurricane Debby came through earlier this week.  Although it was just rainy and windy here, it is slowly dumping rain and flooding Charleston, so we had to cancel the family meetup.

I'm not sure when we'll get together.  And although of course the priority is to see Aunt Pat, I find myself disappointed at not seeing the cousins too and not having them see Mommy; it's been years now.  I'd already checked out some ebooks and I decided to go ahead and read some (though alas the sequels were ebooks, too.)

I'd planned to start work Saturday to get in all my hours before leaving for the trip, and for the past month work always ran out by Thursday for some reason anyway.  However, there was no work Saturday, leaving me discombobulated, and then I learned there was a mandatory survey, but I hadn't gotten the email.

I've had no work since then and, despite communicating with support, no new emails from the project.  I don't think the lack of work is related to the survey, but it's still worrying (not least because I'm not making money) and I don't trust support to get this fixed in a timely manner or at all, really.

I tried to start a game of Mass Effect to stave off Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but I ended up starting it too, and it's already making me remember how much more I like Rise of the Tomb Raider (it's not a bad game!  I just like Rise so much better!)  I really should be playing my new games, sigh.
