After going to bed so early I was surprised to wake to my alarm at nine. We had a busy morning packing and cleaning and left at ten to get to the megachurch Marsha and Chuck (and Aunt Pat) went to. We got there just as church was starting but had a hard time finding where Chuck (and Blakely) were waiting for us. The sanctuary doubled as a basketball court for the church during the week.
Afterwards we went to charming downtown Cary to the hotel restaurant of Peck and Plume. I checked us in, feeling very fancy, and we waited in the "library" while the others parked. We had cinnamon rolls for appetizers and I had barbeque shrimp and grits with a sausage egg roll.
We changed clothes there and Key and I had a quick trip to the airport and a quick trip to the gate. There was an older pair of twins at our gate. I read an ebook as we waited to get on the plane. I was thirsty and sad to get just a cup of iced Diet Coke instead of the can, perhaps because it was a short flight, just over an hour.
It almost, or maybe did, take us more time to get to the car. We had to take a monorail to the main terminal, then another monorail to Terminal C, then ask information where to get the shuttle to the economy lot, walk past the Bright Line train, across to parking garage, take an elevator down a couple floors, walk back across to the terminal, take an escalator down, then find the right shuttle.
We had a nice chat with a couple on the shuttle who had just come back from a Viking cruise. The driver was nice enough to drive around awhile until we found our car. After some arguing we figured out our route home. I was back by 8:30 pm, and I had books waiting at the door.
I had such a busy week last week it's taken me awhile to post. Sunday we finally managed to do some Magical Dining at Fig's Prime. It was one of the places we'd been before, but years ago. I don't think the (magical) menu had changed that much, but it was still good. Key and I again had fancy shrimp and grits (this time with scallops.) Mine were better at Peck and Plume.
I didn't manage a full day of work Monday, which meant more work Tuesday. Then I had a long day of work Wednesday at German American and went straight to helping Mommy afterwards, not getting home until after eight. To make sure I had enough hours I had more work Thursday (and then none Friday, so I still didn't have a full week.)
And of course Saturday was Oktoberfest, which was busy, with good weather. However, with another hurricane coming I won't be going in to the club tomorrow. I've been taking in the ourdoor decorations and stuff on the porch again.
