There and Back Again
We celebrated Mommy's birthday with a cake Wednesday night and helped pack.
I got up at 6:15 am. Despite having mostly packed beforehand, I still had trouble getting everything together and getting to the parents' house on time. Still, despite the morning traffic, we made it to the gate with plenty of time. I spent most of our time waiting to board watching a mother with two little babies (one slightly older.)
The flight went quickly, maybe because I slept most of it. There was a little guy with a wheelchair waiting at the gate and he took us right to baggage. From there we took a shuttle to get our rental cars.
Our AirBNB was in Pickerington. There were some pretty fall trees outside, but we were disappointed to discover it only had one bathroom, sparse furniture, and no food. Papa and I went to Kroger to stock up and by the time we had gotten back John and Mary were there with Raising Caine's.
Then Ronda (with chili) and Joyce (with cookies and dirt dessert) arrived. They also brought some old family photo albums we looked over. They chatted but left about 8:30 pm, which was good because I was so exhausted that I went to bed by 9 pm.
I was pleased to discover when I got back that the issue with my payment setup at work had finally been fixed, and I'm finally being paid today! There are other issues, like my hours still not showing correctly, but they are minor in comparison. Additionally, the library will finally be opening back up next week, after being closed for three months!
