It seems like this is a bookstore trend anymore. I work at a major chain o' bookstores and it's pretty much been our policy that ticket holders go first and everybody else last, IF there's time. :\ It sucks! Some authors really don't care about how many autographs they sign or who gets what -- if they're only required to be there for two hours they will only be there for two hours. Other authors stay well over their "hours" and make sure everybody gets at least a hello... so it just depends on the person, in my experience! I'd say go early and if you can afford to swing $12 for one of the paperbacks, DO IT, at least you'll be sure.
