The proportions -- larger than a katana, shorter than a no-dachi -- were not the only notable feature, however; the entire blade glowed, almost sullenly, from within, and was wreathed in ghostly violet flame.
Deadly weapon, this: as soon as it was completely formed, Enzan could read its purpose. The greater the bearer's own agony, the stronger the blade became.

His father would have to be careful; while being crossfused gave Enzan protection, Shuuseki's flesh would be a tempting target. Enzan made a mental note to watch his family closely.

Now that they had arrived, Blues was inwardly shaking like a leaf at being back in the dragon's jaws as it were; walking straight into his former master's territory was doing nothing for his state of mind.
If he'd been capable he would have bitten through his lip with fear -- but under the fear was a slowly-coiling pit of blackest anger, unmistakable through the crossfusion.
As the group got their bearings, a shimmer of movement -- something, or someone, transferring into the garden. Down by the doors in question, something icy-coloured started to form ...
