merlin s4 is so solid so far.
keyword: nuance.
hallelujah.
as butchered as the progression of morgana's character/story was, i think s4 brings her as the perfect antagonist. by dialing down the obvious and going for subtle instead, she convinces me thoroughly that she's messed up and unhinged. she makes me feel shivers because she is dangerous instead of making me feel vaguely embarrassed for her flimsy dramatics. i actually love that agravaine is constantly barging into her little place in the woods, because i want to see more more of her (and less dialogue; when morgana is steely and quiet, she really really delivers the pitch-perfect darkness). also, she is beautiful. love the darkness and not-neatness of costume+make-up.
as for merlin, well, shit. like s3, this show could be titled the continual emotional abuse of merlin by life in general.
