Saw National Ballet of Canada's Alice in Wonderland at Kennedy Center. I went with some trepidation, but it turns out to be very clever and very British and very entertaining, there is some puppetry and some projection, but they're really used in a very thoughtful manner, perfectly complimenting the dance, and the Cheshire Cat was particularly ( Read more... )

Do you miss the cultural fleshpots of New York, or does DC have enough to be going on with?

I do I do. DC on the surface of it has everything ny has, but when you actually get there it's actually rather diluted. but there's enough to keep me entertained in my copious free time. in ny I always feel like i don"t have time to do what I want.

I'd think the teeth-gnashing at all you're missing is in fact one of the drawbacks of NY. Especially when the free time is indeed family-and-job 'copious'.
