Since I found the playlist for Untamed still on youtube, I rewatched the first two episodes again. In hindsight, having seen the entire series, I realized how packed with details and clues they were. And how utterly confusing and inexplicable they would have been to anyone who just started watching. It is as though the first two episodes are a

Ohhh that explains so much!! Mom's not letting me watch so I'll finish the 2nd episode when I get back at the end of the week.

Oh you need to finish second episode so that you can get to the flashback sequence, it become a totally different series starting at that point - it flows much better and the story and the plot starts to carry you along. And of course it's total eye candy at that point.
