I wish there was too... lately I've just been documenting stuff I've read in here, but there's got to be an easier way to do this. My mom just writes hers down on envelopes. :P

So what did you think of Orlando?

To Kill a Mockingbird is so, so good.

Oooh, that's right, I forgot to tell you about Orlando! I really liked it. It was definitely her most out-there work that I've read so far (I've read five of Woolf's novels, I think) and it's definitely NOT a narrative at all, more like watching a painting, if that makes any sense. It's almost entirely visual. You won't enjoy it if you don't approach it from this perspective, cause at first I was a little daunted by the fact that there was pretty much NO narrative, it's all description but no plot, yet somehow she manages to push the plot along through 400 years. I don't know if we have the same versions, but mine has pictures in it and it really feels like a real biography at times. Definitely worth a read, but you have to be patient with it. I tried to read only 30 or 40 pages a day of it, otherwise my mind started to wander and I'd get annoyed. It's one of those small doses kinds of things.

I am absolutely in LOVE with To Kill a Mockingbird right now! I've only got a few pages left, I'll finish it today. I'm waiting until I'm done ( ... )

Orlando is near the top of my list now, so I'll let you know what I think of it once I'm finished. I don't think my edition has pictures, but I haven't really looked through it yet. I'm really looking forward to it.

Have you read The Red Tent? I finished it a couple of days ago, and could not put it down. Absolutely loved it.

Our library has Memoirs of a Geisha, by the way, but there's a long waiting list for it. Which I guess is a good thing... I just hate waiting.

I've never read The Red Tent, although it was extreeeemely popular at the bookstore for a while. I think her new book is called Dogville or Dogtown or something similar. Diamant, right? It's on my list of books to buy, along with Euginedes's Middlesex.

I hate waiting too. You should just buy Memoirs of a Geisha if the wait's too long, it is definitely a book that you'll wanna own. I'm actually kind of sad that I borrowed it from the library and didn't buy a copy, cause it's just that good.
