Lewis Fic: The Brave Ones

Aug 08, 2012 13:11

I should probably call this the AU ending series rather than the secret series but keeping in the same vein, this is the AU ending to Generation of Vipers.

The Brave Ones

Robbie and James sat in the pub garden. James reading ‘The Oxford Shakespeare’ edition of ‘Troilus and Cressida’, the last play that Briony worked on, with a bottle of beer in front ( Read more... )

Very nice job of meshing these into canon, and I like the finish :) That conversation at the end of Generation of Vipers was extremely pointed, wasn't it?

I have to say that I didn't realise until the mention of Morse in this fic that all three are intended to be in the same universe - chronologically, story two should come before story one, which was a bit confusing. But that's minor and easily fixed.

Lovely stories, and a great start to the Challenge!

Yeah, I agree about the chronological order and I hummed and harred about it but the Morse fic was the prompt and inspired the other two so did really have to be at the beginning so I'm begging AU get out card on that one and we're all just going to pretend that ITV aired them out of order. *Grin*

Although Morse convo was only brought in to prove a point and I could have found something in cannon but time was short and it seemed appropriate and didn't require the unitiated to 'know' the series.

Yeah, the convo in GoV is pointed. Could easily be James prompting Lewis/Hobson though I suppose.

Glad you liked it. Can't wait to read everyone elses work. Can't believe I only found Lewis fic 3 months ago!! Talk about late to the party. LOL.

That was very well handled! I had noticed the timeline confusion too, but I agree that it's minor and easily ignored. It did not detract from my enjoyment in the least ( ... )

OH TOTALLY TOTALLY AGREE!! It's what I love most about fanfiction that a whole story can be born from just a cannon glance and that some fics make you sit back and think WOW - never thought of that! Love Fanfic ( ... )

Great stories and I love the awkward way they finally get together. Never the easy route for our terminally oblivious boys.

LOL - No, they never do it easy do they. Chuffed you like the ending - I was most worried about this one as hard to keep them in character with all the talking - I don't think James has ever talked so much. LOL

Thanks for commenting and making me feel better about it.

I enjoyed this (and not just because they finally get to the kissing). Actually my favorite part was "Icky, Sir?" It made me laugh, and it sounded like something Hathaway would say.

I've used your stories to bribe myself to finish working tonight (work a little, read a bit, work a bit more, read a little more), so thanks for getting me through the night!

LOL, yeah I liked the Icky, Sir and could hear James say that clearly in my head. I think the Police Brutality line in the previous fic is my favourite though.

Chuffed my stories managed to bribe you, and keep you coming back to read more. Glad you enjoyed them. Chuffed with the response to my first Lewis fics.
