MONTAGE, LENS DISTORTION
A WOMAN dances in a park at night. Shot of a howling ape seen on a TV. The same WOMAN, over a railway bridge, under-lit by a passing train. Cheesy TV presenter in front of a roulette board. The WOMAN slumped forward, on a bench. B/W shot from a vampire film. Abstract shot of a bottle on grass brightly lit by security lights.
INT., BEDROOM, NIGHT
MAN watches television while lying down on bare floorboards. He has a vomit bowl nearby him and is shaking. The WOMAN we saw passed out in the park appears with a bottle and drinks long and hard from it before proffering it to him. He reaches out to take it but she keeps on pulling it away. Cut to a wide shot of him alone in a room reaching for the bottle.
INT., HALL, DAY
WOMAN sits among group of haggard people in a circle of chairs. It doesn't seem to have begun yet, as if they are waiting for someone to turn up. Then a well-dressed man makes a gesture as if to say "let's begin" and the WOMAN watches while the solitary chair is taken out of the circle and they all scrape in closer.
INT., OFFICE, DAY
MAN, shaven and uncomfortable in a suit, sweating under fluorescent lights during a job interview. He is surrounded by blank surfaces, and finds it difficult to concentrate.
INT., HALL, DAY
The camera tracks in on the WOMAN in the centre of the group, eventually highlighted by the white light from the window behind her, looking into space. The image of the MAN slides onto the screen in superimposed form going right while the camera pans left until her face is centre with his superimposed with it, as if they have suddenly slid into "focus". Fade.
EXT., BRIDGE, DAY
They rush into a tunnel together with graffiti on the walls, and meet in the centre. They sit down and open a bottle together, and drink until their faces are expressionless, unaware. As they fall asleep together under the bridge, we see his hand on hers.
