Today was the worst yet, but at least it seems to be over now. The project management community at work is smaller by at least 40%, which feels like brutal trimming, but without the money to invest in new projects, there's nothing for folks to do... here's hoping the economy picks up, and soon. This is precisely why I'm going back to school to get into a totally different field, though - life is too short to spend 40+ hours every week doing something that doesn't feed you in some essential way and for which you can feel appreciated and accomplished. If your situation keeps going downhill, I hope you can also start considering your alternatives so that you don't end up feeling too stuck!

Today was a better day - had a very bad morning meeting that had me close to wishing for a package, followed by coffee with a colleague who helped me point my thinking about the job in a new and very creative direction. So I've told my boss to prepare herself, cuz I'm about to campaign to take my job in a direction that I know I can live with, and that I know would benefit the group. I have a great boss - she said, "bring it on, girl!" and I'm gonna!
