There was one time in Waterford - pre-Aslan - that I woke up to the maintenance guy in my apartment. Apparently, I'd slept through the knock. I think I scared him more than he scared me.
There was a time in our first apartment in Mancheseter, that the retail person came by to show our appartment, and I was working in the office downstairs (entry was on the upper level). There had been a miscommunication on what days I was home and what days I was at work.

If I get this job, I think I may start back to school part time to get a certifice in non-profit administration in the spring. I'm also going to start fostering relationships and establish as much volunteer non-profit fundraising experience as I can. But first things first
Sounds excellent. A good place to position yourself where you can do something you don't hate, maybe might even enjoy, while you also move yourself toward a different career. We will keep fingers and kitty paws crossed for you!!
This is definitely a year where things are not coming easy. The key is trying to have faith that all will indeed work out.

But if you flip a coin twice and it comes up heads both times, what's the probability it will be heads the third time? One-half, of course.
I do however believe in a generalized concept of karma. Not cosmic karma, but a more unfantastic version just based on probability.
There's usually some risk associated with every "negative" action one takes*. Tailgating, shoplifting, being rude to one's mother, etc. Purely due to statistics, someone who commits more negative acts (and correspondingly looks like an asshole) are more likely to suffer the consequences of risk.
*There's risk associated with everything; however, in this case I mean that going with the flow and following the prevailing expected behavior of society is safer. Tailgating is more dangerous than maintaining a two-second gap; shoplifting is more dangerous than paying for one's ( ... )

First, thanks for making me laugh! I needed that laugh.
Second, regarding the car, cool (in a way), because you'll be getting an even newer car. Pieces of it anyway. It's good that they're handling it so smoothly for you.
Third, regarding the job prospect, excellent! That sounds like fun! Yet another position that I think you'd be good at. Good luck!
