My balloon has been busted and at one point I'm going to cry like a 2 year old.

Remember how happy I was that Chico was doing better?  Last week I didn't post about him, but he had been doing better.  He's eating more and drinking more water.  He gets up and walks around easier.  He'll even get up of his own accord just to say hi.  This weekend my ( Read more... )

You've got to give him a chance to get better, just be reasonable about it. It's not going to b an easy decision at any point *big hugs*

I've decided to give him about two more weeks. If he keeps improving he should have made a lot of progress by then. If he has a relapse, then it'll mean he probably won't get better and then we'll go from there.

The thing I keep thinking is that the vet keeps saying she "thinks" that's what it is. Without the actual bone marrow exam she doesn't know for sure. In these few weeks they keep thinking they know what it is, only to discard it later. So I'm hoping she's wrong.

I'm so sorry, Rachel.
Anyway, I don't think he is in pain now, cause animals immediately get quiet when they feel pain...he woulnd't be active at all...if now he's doing relatively well is because he really feels well...they can't fake like we do...It's your decision but IMO, there would be no reason to put him to sleep now (if he's doing fine like he seems to be by your description). I'd consider it if he has a severe relapse, though.

After talking to my dad last night I decided that I won't do it. My dad was telling me that Chico was now following him around the house like he used to. I like you think that if he was in pain he wouldn't be moving around and it seems like as time passes he's moving a lot more.

I'm going to wait about two more weeks to see how he's doing. For all we know the vet is wrong. She's been wrong before.

They say that hope is the last thing we lose, no? :-)
