Introversion and extroversion to me implies how one personally feels towards being around people. Not how much exposure one has towards people. For example, I gain energy from being alone. I would eventually like to have a job where interacting with people (or small furry animals) is not the primary focus of my job. I enjoy spending time with people and I spend a lot of time with a lot of people. So I consider myself an introvert.
Hmm, I think that if you are asking the question, "somewhere in between" is your best choice.
One's answer would also depend on what definitions of "introvert" and "extrovert" one uses. There are the common definitions, where "introvert" is used to describe someone who is quiet, withdrawn, etc., and "extrovert" is used to describe someone who is outgoing, loud, etc. By those definitions, my answer would be "somewhere in between."
Then there are the Myers-Briggs definitions, where introversion and extroversion relate to whether one feels most energized when alone and in quiet places, or when with other people and in louder places. For that, it's a highly personal decision...I've known some self-identified introverts whose behavior would be called "extroverted" by the earlier set of definitions.
You are an introvert who looks like an extrovert. You are very outgoing and yankee-ish (not demure), but when push comes to shove you seek being alone, or don't connect to people. And you don't share your inner self easily. If you've seen Once Upon a Matress (not what it sounds like!), you are the girl described in the the song "I'm terribly SHY!"
