Let's see how well I can describe it. I'd be participating in a stone fences project in a localized area near where I live. They're inventorying and researching the use of stone fences over the past 100-150 years (I think?). Part of it involves the shift in who builds the fences (typically different immigrant groups of the time), as well as the shift from landowners having their laborers build the fences, to laborers branching out into business for themselves. There's a bit of geology in there as well, demonstrating the use of materials found in the immediate vicinity of the wall. The goal for this semester is to create a DVD that provides a benchmark of the stone fences found in the valley at this point in time.
