More specific computer questions

Okay, I've found a couple that I like and are within my price range, but I have a few questions because I don't know ANYTHING about anything, it seems. So these few questions will help make my decision easier. Please don't laugh at me. Remember that I don't do a lot of high tech stuff. 1. Brand doesn't really matter. Most computers are like wheat, no matter where you get it, it's still wheat. Though some might sell better quality wheat, it's still wheat. That's a fun word to say. Wheat ( ... )

Do you have any problems with Compaqs specifically? One of the ones I was deciding between is a Compaq, actually.

No, not specifically. I had a compaq tower for...3 or 4 years, and it was a good computer. I now have a compaq laptop that is roughly the same age, and while a little outdated, it still does its job. They're comparable with HP, and I haven't heard complaints about them like with Gateway.

I was just saying be aware that celeron are cheap. But then again, what you need out of a computer is sort of what an old lady needs out of a car. Nothing fun or fancy, just transportation. :)
