I saw District 9 with Keet last night and my goodness that was some of the best sci-fi I've seen in a while.

Hah, I knew that biggest secret of the whole thing was that people wanted the weapons. I do like how the filmmakers turned around the usual idea of an alien visitation or invasion the way I've heard they did.

Oh yeah, they turned a lot of the usual conventions on their head, and that's what I loved so much about it. Yeah, some of the setups were pretty obvious (I so called it when the fuel started transforming him, and when Christopher saw the horrific experiments done on his people in MNU's biolab), but it was ultimately satisfying because it's still not what you come to expect from these sorts of movies.

I HADNT HEARD ABOUT THIS MOVIE AND AM IN FACT OFF TO SEE THE VERY LAST RUN OF THE NIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF YOU!

I found it interesting on several levels, not just in char development, but also in sci-fi, as a plausibale universe, though they left some gaping plotholes:) Overall, good flick.
