Speaking as an artist, if that's what it takes to be great, or even good, I'll settle for being mediocre or poor and do my best to come up with my own ideas. With press like that floating around the net, it's a wonder Apple wins any of its lawsuits at all.

I think it's important to view that quote in the right context. To borrow another line, from Einstein this time, "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources". A lot of what art is is basically pawning ideas and recreating what people have done before you. Whether concious or unconcious, we steal and copy a lot. To bring this back to the topic, taking an artist's picture, merely changing the resolution, frame and the signature, is not what that is about. It's very uninspired and unimaginative; cheap theft that's a big part of these big companies that claim to be so original, artful and revolutionary and are anything but.
