Nevertheless, loli/shota has gotten a modicum of defense from me, because nobody is actually harmed in their creation, and such pictures are, if nothing else, a harmless outlet for less wholesome desires.
How is this different from cub art? Where are the harmed children?
But honestly, I think the psychological issues lie more with the 'haters' than anywhere else. I use 'issues' here loosely, as I don't suspect they're damaged or need professional help. Rather I think it's an emotional distaste that makes it harder to approach the subject in a rational manner. I used to be squicked by a lot of art. Usually if it involved violence, snuff or otherwise my kneejerk reaction had always been a little silent cry. I got over it though, and learned the hard way not to be so sensitive on those subjects in fictional depiction. I'm allowed to dislike it, just like they're allowed to draw it. As far as underage goes, keep that the hell away from me in any form :| And that's my opinion on the whole thing.
Besides, there is no such thing as 'freedom of speech' on a privately owned medium. You get to say what the owner lets you say and before you join you sign a little waiver that states you're ok with that.
